Snowy New Year's Eve

It was New Year's Eve 1975 or 76 in Chicago and there was a heavy snow storm. Sam and Chris lived in Evanston and my wife Marilyn and kids lived in Skokie. We were all invited to a party in Arlington Heights. So not to miss a party, Sam, Chris, and their daughter managed to make it to my house. Their daughter stayed at my house and baby sit our kids. We shoveled to get out of the driveway as we ventured out in the storm to go to the party. We drove in the few ruts slip sliding in the snow for an hour to get to the party. We didn't know how we would get home, but who cares it was a party. Yes, we made it home, had fun, and made another memory. We made many memories. The times at DeVry in Chicago were special times with special people and Sam was one of them for sure. The last time I saw Sam was on TV. He was doing an ad for Home Depot. I yelled, that's Sam! I just found out about Sam's passing from Jerry Dill and Gerry Murphy two other special people from those special times at DeVry. I was glad to talk to them, but sad to learn of Sam's passing. We shared stories of those times and had some laughs while remembering Sam. I know he would have wanted it that way. To Chris and family, I wish you peace. Bill Weaver and Marilyn
